Lucasfilm Unveils Three Upcoming Live-Action Star Wars Films: A Closer Look

Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 was host to a remarkable announcement on 7th April 2023. Three new live-action Star Wars films are in production, according to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. James Mangold (Logan, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka), and Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel, Saving Face) are in charge of the movies.

• James Mangold’s film will revisit the dawn of the Jedi, 
  
  
• Dave Filoni's will concentrate on the New Republic, concluding the interconnected stories featured in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ programs. 
  
  
• Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's film, will occur after the events of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, and will feature Daisy Ridley as Rey, as she constructs a new Jedi Order.
